Hardboard 8ft x 4ft (1220mm x 2440mm)
Hardboard Is a traditional board commonly used for floor covering and levelling of old floor boards. It gives a clean smooth surface which allows you to apply various floor coverings of your choice. One face is smooth while the other is textured to give grip on the surface, however a ring shanked nail or staple will still be required. Hardboard is manufactured from fine wood fibres, making it cost effective and can be used for various applications.
Key Features
Application
Hardboard can be used for a variety of functions e.g. floor covering, general decorative projects, signs, displays, doors, panels, backing for wardrobes, cabinets and bottom of drawers, etc. Hardboard has one smooth and one coarse side, the coarse side is used faced down to give extra grip on the surface although it does need be nailed down for permanent fixtures. Hardboard is only 3mm thick which makes it very easy to work with using conventional wood working tools. It also offers flexibility due to its thin profile, making it suitable for projects where you might need slight flexibility. The face of the board is coloured in brown, which can be painted or covered over with vinyl, wood flooring and other products.
